Zwiększono budżet na Mój Prąd 6.0

The budget for My Electricity 6.0 has been increased

11 days – that was enough to use up the entire pool of funds earmarked for the sixth edition of the Mój Prąd program. There is good news for those who did not manage to submit an application – the budget has been increased threefold. However, considering the speed at which the first pool was exhausted, it can be expected that the additional funds will be distributed just as quickly. That is why it is worth submitting an application as soon as possible. How to do it? Who can benefit from the subsidy? How much can you receive? Let us recall the most important issues.

Huge interest in the My Electricity 6.0 program

The Mój Prąd program has enjoyed great interest among Poles who want to invest in renewable energy sources for years. To date, 545,552 subsidies have been granted for a total amount of almost PLN 2.9 billion. The latest edition of the program announced significant financial support for photovoltaic installations, energy storage and heat storage. The program's budget was originally PLN 400 million, but the funds were quickly exhausted.

The application process for Mój Prąd 6.0 started on September 2, 2024 at 9:00 a.m. By September 13 (11:30 a.m.), 36,901 applications had been accepted, totaling PLN 445 million, which is PLN 5 million more than the planned budget of PLN 400 million. Interestingly, almost 14,000 applications for a total amount of approximately PLN 200 million concerned energy storage facilities.

The new budget amounts to PLN 1.25 billion

The demand for funding exceeded the organizers' wildest expectations. Due to the high interest in the decision of the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management, the Mój Prąd 6.0 program remains open. This means that applications can still be submitted. The budget has been increased by an additional PLN 850 million and now amounts to PLN 1.25 billion. The financing comes from the European Funds for Infrastructure, Climate, Environment (FEnIKS) 2021-2027.

Increasing the budget for the Mój Prąd 6.0 program is a good move. As of October 9, 2024, 49,000 applications have already been submitted, which proves that interest in the program remains at a very high level. As many as 18.4 thousand applications for an amount exceeding PLN 262 million concerned co-financing of electricity storage facilities. This shows that Poles are increasingly deciding not only on photovoltaic installations, but also on solutions enabling the storage of surplus energy. This is evidence of growing energy awareness and the pursuit of greater independence from traditional energy suppliers.

My Electricity 6.0 – assumptions

Similarly to the previous edition, in the sixth edition of the programme beneficiaries can apply for subsidies not only for photovoltaic installations themselves, but also for energy and heat storage facilities.

In the current recruitment, you can receive up to PLN 28,000 in funding. Financial support for photovoltaic micro-installations is up to PLN 7,000 if the investment also includes an energy or heat storage facility – without additional components, the amount of funding is a maximum of PLN 6,000. Prosumers can receive up to PLN 5,000 for a heat storage facility with a minimum capacity of 20 dm³, and up to PLN 16,000 for an electricity storage facility with a minimum capacity of 2 kWh. It is worth remembering that the funding cannot exceed 50% of eligible costs.

Prosumers who invested in their photovoltaic installations after January 1, 2021 can apply for funding. The condition is to use the net-billing system.

Importantly, prosumers who reported a photovoltaic installation (with a capacity of 2 kW to 20 kW) to the grid after August 1, 2024, must invest in an electricity or heat storage. In order to obtain a subsidy for installations reported before the end of July 2024, the purchase of additional devices is not mandatory.

This time without heat pumps

Unlike the previous edition, Mój Prąd 6.0 does not cover heat pumps, solar collectors and energy management systems in the building HEMS/EMS. Moreover, the subsidy does not cover off-grid installations, i.e. those that are not connected to the network, as well as installations financed in the form of leasing.

This does not mean, however, that those who want to invest in a heat pump are left out in the cold. Funds for the purchase and installation of pumps can be obtained under the Clean Air or My Heat programs.

How to apply for the My Electricity 6.0 program?

Applications can be submitted at https://gwd.nfosigw.gov.pl/ . You must set up an account and prepare electronic versions of documents, including VAT invoices (or personalized receipts) for the purchase and installation of a photovoltaic installation and additional devices, a document confirming the notification to the Distribution Network Operator for the connection of the micro-installation to the power grid, or confirmation of settlement in the net-billing system. Detailed information is available at mojprad.gov.pl/zloz-wniosek .

The budget increase is a chance for further investment in green energy, support for Poland's energy transformation and a response to the needs of thousands of people who see renewable energy sources as the future. The application process for Mój Prąd 6.0 is scheduled to last until 20 December 2024 or until the funds are exhausted. However, there is no point in delaying. If the interest in funding is as high as in the first batch, we can expect the application process to be completed sooner.
