Rekordowa dotacja dla Rybnika i gmin partnerskich na realizację projektu OZE

Record subsidy for Rybnik and partner municipalities for the implementation of the renewable energy project

Rybnik is considered one of the leaders in the fight against smog for good reason. The city, as the initiator of the project "Green energy in the area of Partner Municipalities: Rybnik, Czerwionka-Leszczyny, Gaszowice, Jejkowice, Lyski, Pszów, Świerklany", together with partner municipalities, obtained over PLN 143 million in subsidies from the European Union for heat pumps and energy storage for residents. What subsidies can the beneficiary of the program count on?

The largest grant program in the region

"Green energy in the Partner Municipalities: Rybnik, Czerwionka-Leszczyny, Gaszowice, Jejkowice, Lyski, Pszów, Świerklany" is a project implemented under the European Funds for Silesia 2021-2027 Programme, measure 10.06 Development of distributed energy based on renewable energy sources. The aim is to support residents of the region in investing in renewable energy sources. The project provides subsidies for the purchase and installation of photovoltaic installations - along with additional elements. The project is a response to the problems of the Silesian Voivodeship presented in the Development Strategy of the Silesian Voivodeship "Śląskie 20230" Green Silesia.

Partner municipalities received as much as PLN 143 million for division. According to preliminary arrangements, the Czerwonka-Leszczyny municipality received approx. PLN 25.5 million, and the city of Pszów – approx. PLN 17.2 million. In Pszów alone, subsidies were provided for the purchase and installation of 40 heat pumps, 25 energy storage units, 150 PV installation sets with storage and monitoring system, and 65 full sets – i.e. photovoltaic installation, heat pump, energy storage unit, and energy management system.

This is the largest such undertaking ever implemented in the region. It is estimated that the amount of PLN 143 million granted will be enough to purchase 2,596 RES installations and 1,678 energy storage units. Interestingly, if so many new photovoltaic systems are actually built, carbon dioxide emissions will be reduced by about 12,000 tons per year.

It is worth mentioning here that the funds for RES are not the only money that the residents of the Silesian province will receive. Recently, the second edition of the Marshal's Air Quality Improvement Program was decided, in which 15.7 million PLN was to be distributed. The subsidy was received by 74 local governments - including Cieszyn and Jejkowice. The funds will be allocated to the implementation of 77 submitted projects

Joint forces in the fight for clean air in the region

As the representatives of the municipalities emphasize, cooperation in the fight for clean air is a necessity today. The project with record-high funding is an important step in this direction. The development of prosumer energy, which is possible thanks to it, will contribute to improving the air quality in the region, increasing the share of renewable energy in the overall energy balance and reducing pollution. This, in turn, will translate into improving the health and economic situation of residents, and will also support the formation of pro-ecological attitudes.

Up to PLN 104,000 in subsidies for residents

The beneficiary of the project can count on up to PLN 104,000 in funding, which is 85% of the total investment costs. The condition will be to submit an application for the purchase of the entire set including a photovoltaic installation, energy storage, energy management system and a heat pump for central heating and domestic hot water.

Financial assistance is also available to those who decide to install individual components, such as a heat pump or an energy storage unit. Such people can count on funding ranging from a dozen to several dozen thousand złoty, depending on the option chosen.

The project is planned for 2024-2026. Interestingly, the project, apart from funding, also includes an educational campaign, including activities influencing the shaping of pro-ecological attitudes among the region's inhabitants, as well as pro-ecological activities implementing the environmental goals specified in the European Green Deal.
