Increased scope of material support and even higher subsidies – the first information about the Mój Prąd 5.0 program is optimistic. All previous versions of the project were successful. And what will happen now? What subsidies can we count on?
My Electricity Program – where does this interest come from?
Mój Prąd 5.0 is another edition of the government project supporting prosumer energy in Poland. As part of the program, individuals who generate electricity for their own needs can receive a subsidy for the purchase and installation of PV installations and additional elements. Such as energy storage with a capacity of at least 2 kWh, heat storage and HEMS/EMS energy management systems. The program is a response to the development of renewable energy sources in Poland. Its main goals are: increasing electricity production from home photovoltaic micro-installations, increasing self-consumption of energy thanks to its storage and increasing the efficiency of energy management in Poland.
The beneficiary of the Mój Prąd program may be a person who produces energy for their own needs, has a contract with the electricity grid and settles in the net-billing system.
The fourth edition of the program, which was originally scheduled to last until March 31, 2023, ended on March 17 due to the exhaustion of the allocated funds. However, preparations are underway to announce the next call for applications. What is known about Mój Prąd 5.0?
Who can become a beneficiary of My Electricity 5.0?
Like previous editions, Mój Prąd 5.0 will be aimed at individuals who generate electricity for their own needs in home photovoltaic installations. According to initial arrangements, prosumers who settle in the net-billing system will be able to apply for the subsidy. Those who settle in the old discount system will receive support in switching to net-billing.
My Current 5.0 and previous editions
In the first three editions, beneficiaries could count on a subsidy for the purchase and installation of a photovoltaic system, of which in the first two editions the maximum subsidy was PLN 5,000, and in the third PLN 3,000. Despite relatively low rates, all editions ended with a spectacular success. In Mój Prąd 3.0, the funds earmarked for subsidies were exhausted after only 3 months, which forced the organizers to close the recruitment early.
A few months later, a new, improved edition of the program was launched. The material scope of support was expanded to include energy storage, heat storage and HEMS/EMS systems. Beneficiaries of Mój Prąd 4.0 could count on a PLN 4,000 subsidy for photovoltaics alone or up to PLN 5,000 subsidy for PV installations with add-ons. The maximum amount of support that could be obtained was PLN 20,500. In December 2022, the level of subsidy was increased again. The people who benefited the most from this were those applying for a subsidy for the purchase and installation of an energy storage. The rate more than doubled, from PLN 7,500 to PLN 16,000.
According to the announcements of the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management in Mój Prąd 5.0, the subsidy will also cover heat pumps and solar collectors. The maximum amount of support is to be up to PLN 58,000.

Amount of funding in Mój Prąd 5.0 – how much will you be able to receive?
The amount of support for individual solutions is to remain the same as in the refreshed fourth edition of the program. Let us recall that in Mój Prąd 4.0+ it was possible to obtain:
- up to PLN 7,000 for PV micro-installations,
- up to 16 thousand from the electricity storage,
- up to 5 thousand from the heat storage,
- up to PLN 3,000 for the HEMS/EMS system.
The increased maximum amount of funding is the result of expanding the scope of the project to include solar collectors and heat pumps. The National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management states that up to PLN 3,500 will be available for the purchase and installation of a solar collector, while up to PLN 28,000 will be available for a ground heat pump.
The project of subsidies for electricity storage and heat pumps looks the most advantageous. There is no doubt that the program is to support the fight against the deepening crisis and encourage prosumers to be energy self-sufficient.
What is the budget of the new edition of the My Electricity program?
In the fourth edition of the program, over 60 thousand applications were submitted for a total amount of almost PLN 404 million. Interestingly, the initial analysis shows that about 2300 people applied for subsidies for energy storage. About 2700 for financial support for the purchase of a heat storage, and almost 2000 for a subsidy for an energy management system. The inclusion of new solutions in the program brought the expected effects and confirmed the interest of Poles in the production and storage of electricity.
The preliminary budget for the new edition has not yet been announced. This issue is pending approval from the Ministry of Climate and Environment. It is known, however, that recruitment for Mój Prąd 5.0 will be continuous. According to initial arrangements, as the project develops, the funds allocated for funding are to be systematically increased. However, it is not worth delaying the submission of an application.
Information on the final conditions for obtaining funding should appear soon. We are eagerly awaiting!
